Please read our travel advice about your destination before you travel. While you are abroad, please remain vigilant and follow the instructions and advice from the local authorities.
If you register your contact details with us we can contact you and provide assistance if there is an unforeseen crisis or family emergency while you are overseas. You can register your details on our Citizens’ Registration site.

If you have returned from overseas travel to an area affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19), you should follow the Health Service Executive’s advice.

Information about the Department’s role

The Coronavirus / COVID-19 situation is changing quickly. We are working hard to make sure our travel advice is up-to-date and accurate. In addition to monitoring international developments closely, we are also in ongoing contact with the World Health Organisation, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, the HSE, and other relevant organisations.
